One of the most common things we hear on a first visit is some version of the same sentence: the bathroom has just been cleaned and the shower still looks bad. Almost every time, the glass is genuinely clean. What is left on it is mineral, and no amount of wiping moves mineral, because wiping was never the thing that was going to move it.
Here is what is actually happening. Tulsa water is hard — it carries dissolved calcium and magnesium. Every time it lands on shower glass, a faucet or a tile wall and then dries, the water leaves and the minerals stay. The next shower puts another layer on top of the last one. The same thing is happening everywhere else the water dries and nobody looks: around the base of faucets, in the overflow holes, on the underside of the shower head where the spray pattern has gone uneven, and along the bottom edge of a glass door where water sits longest. Those are the places we go for first on a deep clean, because they are where the build-up is thickest and where getting it back genuinely changes how the room reads.
Prevention is simple and almost nobody does it, so it is worth saying plainly. Squeegee or towel the glass after the last shower of the day — thirty seconds, and it stops the whole cycle, because minerals only get left behind when water is allowed to dry in place. Run the fan long enough to dry the room rather than just to clear the steam. And if you have a water softener, actually check that it still has salt in it; a softener that ran out eight months ago is a very common cause of a bathroom that suddenly stopped responding to cleaning.
If your glass and fixtures have survived a clean still looking marked, it is worth dealing with sooner rather than at the next convenient moment. The difference between a treatment and a replacement is mostly a question of how long it has been sitting there.
